The primary opposition to the Employee Free Choice Act comes from corporations and corporate sponsored lobbying groups. Most of them claim to be speaking for employees, but union members and other workers around the country should be able to see right through this disingenous tactic. The truth is corporations and their friends are scared of the Employee Free Choice Act because of the power it will take away from them and put back into the hands of rank and file workers across the country. This story from the publication The Onion would be funnier if it wasn't based on such a sad truism. To drive the point home, check out this article about the Koch Brothers secret meeting in Palm Springs held yesterday, where many of the world's billionaires met and engaged in planning to undo legislative policy and laws passed in Congress last year and signed by President Obama.

Call our office at 907-258-6284 or send an email to megan@akaflcio.org to find out where you can get tickets in your area. They sell out every year, so make sure to get yours soon! See inside what guns are available this time:

Once again, we have sold out of our Month of Guns raffle tickets. Each year we sell 400 tickets for $100 each. Each day of November we draw a ticket for a rifle or shotgun. The best part of the raffle - your chances of winning are always the same. If your ticket is pulled out and you win, it goes right back in. It is possible (but pretty unlikely!) for you to win 30 guns. Every year we have at least one person who wins more than one gun. Good luck and thank you to everyone who purchased a ticket!

After more than two years of blatantly breaking the law, the Anchorage Sheraton Hotel has been ordered by a federal judge to comply with the terms and conditions of its previous contract with the Hotel Employees & Restaurant Employees Local 878.

It's that time of year again! Each year we sell out on our raffle tickets.

How it works: We sell 400 tickets at $100 each. In November we draw a ticket each day for the gun listed below. Here is the fun part: If your ticket is drawn, it goes back in the raffle. Your chances stay the same each day, but it IS possible to win multiple guns, and that happens each year!

Call 258-6284 to find out where you can purchase a ticket.
