Faculty Fight for a Fair Contract


 
UNAC Local 4996 started the negioation process with the University of Alaska back in August of 2021. They have gone to the negation table in good faith, only to be met by an administration determined to stall the process. 

 
Faculty at the University of Alaska System have only received a 1% raise in the past 6 years and have lost 20% of their purchasing power. The  
 
 

3+ years into the Process

Three years ago, pilots at Alaska Airlines started the negotiation process for a new contract. Alaska Airlines (the most profitable airline in America in the first quarter of 2022) has refused to give pilots basic scheduling assurances that are standard practice at other airlines.  

On April 1st, 2022, pilots at five regional bases participated in an informational picket to send a clear message to Alaska Airlines, “Break the Stall, Contract Now!” Flights attendants and pilots from other ALPA airlines join in solidarity with their brothers and sisters at Alaska Airlines. This included roughly 120 at the Ted Stevens International Airport in Anchorage, AK.
